There are nine supported methods for Looking up items:
1) Cage & Part Number
Expects a delimiter separated list of Cages and Part Numbers. Cage must be first, followed by Part.

NIINs are matched on the combination of Cage and Part. Number of Lookup Items processed is limited base on UserType.

Use Approximate Part Search checkbox: By default the Batch Search looks for an exact match of the Lookup Items provided. This option will change the part number portion of the search to match on similar part numbers. For example, part search 12-345 will also return 12345, 1-2345, 123-45, etc. In addition, To perform a Partial Part Number search enter three or more characters followed by an asterisk (*). Example: 123*.

For an EXACT match: If multiple NIINs are found, an attempt to select the best Source of Supply NIIN is made, along with a count of Matching NIINs. For an APPROXIMATE match: Each similar part number found will be evaluated as if it was in the Item list as an EXACT match.

2) NIIN and Cage
Expects a delimiter separated list of NIINs(or NSNs) and Cage Codes. NIIN/NSN must be first, followed by Cage.

NIINs are matched on the combination of NIIN and Cage. If multiple matches are found for the same NIIN, an attempt to select the best Source of Supply match is made.

3) NIIN and Part Number
Expects a delimiter separated list of NIINs(or NSNs) and Part Numbers. NIIN/NSN must be first, followed by Part.

NIINs are matched on the combination of NIIN and Part. If multiple matches are found for the same NIIN, an attempt to select the best Source of Supply match is made.

For an EXACT match: If multiple parts are found for the NIIN, an attempt to select the best Source of Supply is made. For an APPROXIMATE match: Each similar part number found will be evaluated as if it was in the Item list as an EXACT match.

4) NIIN (only)
Expects a list of NIINs(or NSNs).

Once matched, an attempt to select the best Source of Supply match is made.

5) NIIN & Cage & Part Number
Expects a delimiter separated list of NSN/NIIN, Cage and Part Numbers. NSN/NIIN must be first, followed by Cage, then Part.

If part numbers can contain spaces, it is recommended to use TAB or PIPE(|) as the delimiter.
The following combinations of fields are accepted:
NSN/NIIN, Cage, Part (if three values found, this format is assumed).
NSN/NIIN (no cage or part) (if one value is found, it is assumed to be NSN/NIIN).
Cage & part (no NSN/NIIN)(if two values are found, they are assumed to be Cage & Part).

For an EXACT match: If multiple parts are found for the NIIN, an attempt to select the best Source of Supply is made. For an APPROXIMATE match: Each similar part number found will be evaluated as if it was in the Item list as an EXACT match.

6) Part (only) RNVC='2'
Expects a list of Part numbers.

RNVC='2' checkbox: An RNVC of '2' limits the results to only those parts that are a likely source of supply for an NSN.

For an EXACT match: All NSNs with the exact matching part will be returned. If multiple parts are found for a NIIN, an attempt to select the best Source of Supply is made. For an APPROXIMATE match: Each similar part number found will be evaluated as if it was in the Item list as an EXACT match.

7) Cage FLIS/SAM Status
Expects a list of Cage Codes. [Limited to 500 Cages]
Returns a cage lookup that show the status of the cage for both FLIS and SAM.

8) Cage Opportunity Summary
Expects a list of Cage Codes. [Limited to 500 Cages]
Returns a cage lookup that show the potential Dibbs Solicitations value in the past 90 days that those cages could bid on.

9) DIBBS by FSC Hot Opportunities
Expects a list of FSC Codes. Leave empty, or type 'ALL' to include all FSCs.
Specify the number of prior days of posting data to search through. Limited to 180 days.
Specify whether to include AWARDED solicitations
Returns a list of Solicitations for the provided FSCs within the specified prior period. Only those NSNs that have no current Source of Supply (no items where RNVC = '2') are included. That is why the Search is titled 'Hot Opportunities'.

10) Cage Parts Pull
Expects a single Cage Code. Pulls all NSNs for a specific Cage. Due to the potential size of the result (depending on the cage) only the first cage is evaluated.

Include only Source of supply checkbox: If selected, NSNs will be limited to those with an RNCC of 2,3, or 5 and RNVC of 2.
Check this box if you want to have the NSN health calculated for each found NSN in the batch.

Not available for all membership levels.

Note: This can significantly increase the processing time (by 1-5 seconds per item).
Two character MOE to be preferred when looking up pricing information.
Leave this item blank to use the first MOE found for the item.
If preferred MOE is not found, the lookup reverts to the first MOE found for the item.

Examples include, but are not limited to:
  • DA - DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY
  • DF - DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE
  • DM - U.S. MARINE CORPS
  • DN - DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY
  • DS - DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY
Optional Description for the set of Items to be run in this batch.

A description makes it easier to identify specific batches in the Active Batch Or Batch History tables.
The Delimiter Separated items to be batched for Lookup. These can be typed in, copied and pasted, or read from a file. Note: There is a limit to the number of items that will be processed by the batch based on your User Type.

The delimiter can be a Comma, Tab, Space, Colon, or the Pipe (|) character.

The item data to be provided is dependent on the Lookup Method selected.

If the Lookup Method does not match the data provided, all lookups will still be attempted, but you will get zero matches.

Be sure to have line breaks after each item.

For example, if the Cage & Part Number Method is selected, your item list might look like:

98ABC,PART01-001
98ABC,PART02-001
98ABC,PART03-001

When providing cages, if less than 5 characters are provided, zeros will be added to the start of the cage.
For example: ABC will be looked up as 00ABC.

When providing NIINs, you can either provide NSNs or NIINs. If less than 9 characters are provided, zeros will be added to the start of the NIIN.
Dashes in NSNs are allowed, but spaces are not (Space is one of the 'Delimiter' options).

Lookup Items can be supplied via a file (on most browsers) by clicking the Browse button.

Lookup Items from prior batches can be loaded by clicking on the icon in the Download column.
Lookup Items can be typed or copied and pasted into the Lookup Items area, or supplied via a file (on most browsers) by clicking the Browse or Choose File button.

The file must contain Delimiter Separated items to be batched for Lookup.

For example, if the Cage & Part Number Method is selected, your file might look like:

98ABC,PART01-001
98ABC,PART02-001
98ABC,PART03-001
